Tour Description
The Cusco mountainbike tour begins with hotel pick-up in the city, followed by a transfer to the starting point of this exciting biking adventure. The journey takes you to the Colonial Fortress Aqueduct, located in the Tica Huerta – Huarahuaylla community, along the route that links the districts of Poroy and Chinchero at an altitude of 3890 meters above sea level.
This remarkable site features a Roman-style stone wall with four windows and a main arch, all exceptionally well-preserved. Built in 1570, the aqueduct is recognized as a Cultural Heritage site and once supplied water to the city during the Inca Empire.
From this location, your biking experience starts as you head towards Apukunaq Tianan or the Abode of the Gods, which is situated close to the aqueducts. This site displays an impressive collection of stone sculptures depicting deities and figures from the Inca culture, such as the Puma and Pachamama, the latter representing Mother Earth.
Following a downhill trail, you will pass through several traditional districts, including Tica Tica, where you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Sacsayhuamán. The bike route continues through neighborhoods such as San Benito, Picchu, and Independencia, until you arrive at the Pachacutec roundabout.
Here, the first circuit concludes. Transportation will then take you to the next starting point in the community of Huayllarcocha. During this visit, you will explore a local farm where you can observe fascinating fauna like llamas and alpacas.
Afterwards, your bike ride resumes down a scenic path, this time passing close to Sacsayhuaman and arriving at the district of San Cristobal, where spectacular city views await.
The tour follows Saphy Street until reaching the Plaza de Armas, the iconic main square where the grand Cathedral of Cusco stands.
At the end of this memorable adventure, we will return you to your hotel.
