Tour Description
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning and begin our journey towards the town of Mollepata, a charming district situated in the province of Anta, approximately 55 miles from Cusco. Here, we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast before continuing our drive to Soraypampa (3,920 masl), the starting point for our trekking adventure.
Once at Soraypampa, we will hold a brief orientation before we start our hike. The trek follows an uphill path and, after about 1.5 hours, you’ll find yourself surrounded by breathtaking mountains, with the chance to spot unique local wildlife such as horses, sheep, Andean foxes, vizcachas, and more.
We will reach the highest point of the trek at 4,200 meters above sea level, where a magnificent viewpoint offers a stunning panorama of Lake Humantay. This remarkable site forms part of the Salkantay trek, an alternative route to the classic Inca Trail leading to Machu Picchu.
The Humantay Lake tour is sure to amaze you with its crystal-clear waters, dramatic landscapes, and the striking contrast of mountains and glaciers. This spectacular lake is fed by the meltwater from the snow-capped peaks of Humantay and Salkantay.
After taking in the beauty of this extraordinary place, we will return to the starting point to enjoy a delicious and well-earned Andean lunch.
Finally, we will head back to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel.
