Tour Description
DAY 1
Your unforgettable journey begins early in the morning as we depart from the city of Cusco. After picking you up at your hotel, we will travel through scenic towns until arriving at the charming village of Paucartambo.
Paucartambo is situated 68 miles from Cusco at an elevation of 2,906 meters above sea level. This town is renowned for hosting the famous Festival of Virgen del Carmen, one of the most significant celebrations in the region.
The Manu tour continues along the route, where we will stop for lunch before reaching the Cloud Forest. This unique place is home to incredible wildlife such as the Spectacled Bear and the Cock of the Rock. You will also discover a variety of plant species and beautiful flowers, including orchids and bromeliads.
Upon arriving at our lodge, we will take some time to rest. The lodge is located in the Manu Cultural Zone at an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level. Around the lodge, you will find trails specifically designed for exploring this remarkable section of the Amazon rainforest. The circuit is about 5 kilometers long and must be explored with a guide.

DAY 2
At sunrise, we will take a boat ride in search of the renowned Cock of the Rock, Peru’s national bird, famous for its strikingly colorful feathers.
After breakfast, we will travel to the quaint town of Pilcopata, located at 589 meters above sea level. Manu National Park lies between Cusco and Madre de Dios and is divided into three zones: the cultural zone, the reserved zone, and the protected zone.
If you wish, you may opt for a one-hour rafting adventure along the Koñeq River and the upper Madre de Dios River, experiencing class I and II rapids. Take in the stunning scenery and enjoy a swim in the river to finish this exciting activity.
Next, we will head to Atalaya Port to board a boat and observe the diverse bird species in the area, before reaching the lodge where we will spend the next three nights, surrounded by the Peruvian jungle.
The lodge features a network of trails that can be explored at any time with a guide. Lunch and dinner are included today.
DAY 3
Early in the morning, we will embark on a walking tour to observe the abundant wildlife around the lodge and learn about the region’s flora and fauna with guidance from our expert tour guide.
After breakfast, the journey continues with a boat ride across the river, followed by a 30-minute walk to explore various plant species, including medicinal plants and tropical fruits.
Upon arriving at the Machuwasi lagoon, we will paddle in canoes to search for different mammal species in their natural habitat. This extraordinary jungle is also home to countless butterfly species, as well as a variety of reptiles and giant otters.
At night, we will enjoy a guided walk near the lodge to spot insects and nocturnal animals. All meals are included today.
DAY 4
The day begins with a special morning walk in the jungle to admire a magnificent kapok tree, known for its impressive roots. Take in the lush vegetation and vibrant ecosystem around you.
Manu National Park is a protected natural area that was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.
We will return to the lodge for breakfast, followed by a boat ride on the Madre de Dios River to reach the Aguas Calientes pools on a fantastic one-and-a-half-hour tour.
Take a refreshing dip in the river while admiring the beauty of the Peruvian jungle and enjoy a delightful lunch.
Afterward, we will rest at the lodge, and later a delicious dinner will be served. Listen to the captivating sounds of jungle insects, animals, and birds before settling in for the night. This is an experience you won’t want to miss.
DAY 5
On the final day, we start with a morning visit to a macaw clay lick, a clay wall used as a nutritional source by various bird species such as the blue-headed parrot, Macarano macaw, and the white-eyed parakeet.
We will return to the lodge and then begin our journey back to Puerto Atalaya, where our transportation will take you to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel. Lunch is included en route.
