Tour Description
In the early morning, a private transfer will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and take you to the Poroy Train Station. Here, our adventure begins aboard the world-renowned Hiram Bingham Train. This train promises a truly first-class journey, known for its elegance and exceptional service.
The train’s classic design perfectly complements the dining area, offering a luxurious setting to savor exquisite dishes prepared by expert chefs. Upon boarding, you will be welcomed with a signature drink and enjoy a gourmet lunch. We highly suggest trying the Pisco Sour, a traditional cocktail crafted with Pisco.
The Hiram Bingham Train features two dining cars, an observation/bar car, and a kitchen car, comfortably accommodating up to 84 guests. The scenic ride from Poroy to your destination takes approximately 3 hours.
Throughout the journey, you’ll witness breathtaking landscapes, with magnificent mountains and unique flora, including views of the Veronica Snowy peak. Following the Urubamba River and entering the canyon, we will arrive at the picturesque town of Aguas Calientes in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. From here, a short bus ride on a winding road will bring us to the iconic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
Discover the awe-inspiring Lost City of the Incas, famous for its terraces, ceremonial sites, grand stairways, and the remarkable solar clock known as the Intihuatana, as well as the Sun Gate or Inti Punku. All this will be explored with an expert guide in a special atmosphere. Machu Picchu was constructed during the reign of Inca Pachacutec around 1450 A.D. as a significant urban and religious center.
Connected by the historic Inca Trails, Machu Picchu stands at 2,400 meters above sea level in a subtropical region. This archaeological marvel was rediscovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.
After your guided tour, enjoy a relaxing tea time at a luxury hotel with stunning mountain views. We will then board the train back to Cusco, where you will be treated to live entertainment and a delicious gourmet dinner on board.
Upon arrival at Poroy Train Station, you will be privately transferred back to your hotel in Cusco city.
