Continue your journey along the trail towards Machu Picchu, passing through the Andean mountains and heading to ‘Inti Punku’ (‘Sun Gate’). Here, you will be treated to your first incredible panoramic view of the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu. Afterward, descend the final section of the trail to arrive at the legendary lost city. In total, you will hike 7.4 miles, which takes approximately 6 hours.
Before entering Machu Picchu, you will take a side trail down to Aguas Calientes, saving your visit to Machu Picchu for the following day. In Aguas Calientes, enjoy a delicious dinner and a well-earned rest to recharge for your Machu Picchu adventure.
