Tour Description

Arrival in Cusco

DAY 1. Upon your arrival in Cusco, whether by plane or bus, our team will greet you and transfer you to your centrally located hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to acclimate to the high altitude. Overnight at your hotel.

Cusco City Tour and Four Nearby Ruins
DAY 2. Spend the morning at your own pace. Later, we will pick you up from your hotel to begin your exploration, starting with the Temple of the Sun, also known as Koricancha. This remarkable site showcases the fusion of Inca and Spanish cultures, with the foundation of the original Incan temple forming the base of the Santo Domingo Church and Monastery.
Next, we will visit the Cathedral in the Main Square, where you can admire the stunning religious artwork of the Cusco School. The Cusco City Tour continues at Sacsayhuaman, an impressive archaeological complex renowned for its massive, perfectly interlocking stones—built by over 20,000 workers in a project that took more than 70 years to complete.
We will then head to Qenqo, a ceremonial site where the Incas worshipped deities such as the Sun, Moon, and Earth. You will enjoy exploring its underground passages and the unique semicircular amphitheater. The tour continues at the military site of Puca Pucara, or “Red Fortress,” named for its reddish stones.
Afterwards, we’ll visit the water worship center of Tambomachay, famous for its aqueducts and natural springs. The tour concludes with a drop-off at El Regocijo Square.

Sacred Valley of the Incas: Via Ferrata + Canopy + Box Lunch

DAY 3. After breakfast at the hotel, your full-day adventure in the Sacred Valley begins. We will collect you from your Cusco hotel and drive through the picturesque route connecting Pisac and Ollantaytambo. After about an hour and a half, we’ll arrive at our base in Pachar, 33 miles from Cusco.

Here, after gearing up with all the necessary safety equipment, you’ll ascend the Sacred Valley Via Ferrata, a route with iron steps fixed into the rock. Alternatively, you can opt for the zip line trail.

After an hour’s climb, you’ll cross a suspension bridge to reach the highest point, where you’ll enjoy a delicious box lunch.

Next, experience the thrill of descending via the Sacred Valley zip line—the longest is 700 meters, with shorter ones at 250 meters—adding extra excitement to this incredible day.

At the end of this unique adventure, we’ll return to the base in Pachar and then take you back to your hotel in Cusco.

Machu Picchu

DAY 4. After breakfast, a tourist bus will pick you up early from your hotel for the journey to Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you’ll board a train bound for Aguas Calientes. On arrival, we’ll continue by bus to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu Citadel, also known as the Lost City of the Incas. Enjoy a two-hour guided tour through this iconic archaeological site, surrounded by breathtaking scenery.

Machu Picchu, a designated World Heritage Site, served as a major agricultural and urban center during the Inca Empire. After your guided visit, you’ll have free time to explore, take photos, or, for the adventurous, hike up Huayna Picchu (optional) for panoramic views. You may also return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (optional).

At the scheduled time, make your way back to Aguas Calientes train station for your return trip to Cusco, with a stop at Ollantaytambo before your shared transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

Cusco

DAY 5. Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a free day for personal activities or relaxation, perfect for recharging before your Vinicunca excursion. Overnight at your hotel.

Mountain of 7 Colors – Vinicunca

DAY 6. Breakfast at the hotel. We will pick you up from your Cusco hotel for a 3.5-hour drive through scenic, untouched landscapes with snow-capped peaks and herds of alpacas. Upon arrival at the starting point in Chillihuani (4,200m/13,900ft), you’ll enjoy a hot breakfast before beginning your trek.

The hike to the renowned Rainbow Mountain or Vinicunca takes about 4 hours uphill, offering stunning views of the Andes, glacier peaks, red mountains, and grazing llamas and alpacas. At the summit, take in incredible panoramic views and observe Andean wildlife, including the rare vicuña—the Andean camelid known for the world’s finest wool.

Once at the top, you’ll have plenty of time to take photos and relax as you marvel at the colorful, striated mountains and the breathtaking Ausangate Glacier Peak, the highest summit in the Cusco region (just under 21,000ft), part of the Vilcanota mountain range.

While you enjoy the views, our team will serve hot drinks and share fascinating facts about the geological history behind the mountain’s vibrant hues. After taking amazing photos and possibly spotting condors, begin the descent—a 2-hour downhill trek—where you’ll meet with our trekking chef for a freshly prepared hot lunch.

After lunch, visit local families to experience first-hand the enduring traditions of the Inca, where Quechua is still spoken, and earth-based spiritual practices and agricultural customs continue. Discover their weaving techniques, which you’ll recognize from museums throughout Peru.

Following your cultural immersion, we’ll return to Chillihuani for your shared transfer back to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 6 pm.
